“A best friend is someone who makes you laugh even when you think you’ll never smile again…”
“It was amazing that we had our arguments and fights“, said one of my best(test) of friends after a long evening of movie, singing, and dancing like chimpanzees (in her words).
She’s someone I’ve met just over three years ago and today, when I have less than a week to move in to a new place, I think and cherish each moment I’ve spent with her.
On 09.11.2014 she contacted me the very first time via facebook. At the time she needed some help/counselling about some courses and exams at the university. That’s how it all started.
From sharing some times together in Chemnitz, till today in Stuttgart, it’s been one amazing roller coaster ride.
She’s been there in my life since her first interview in Stuttgart, until being my roommate for over 2 years now.
Like every other friendship, this one too had it’s own ups and downs but each and every down has bounded us ever more closer.
I remember all the times from being absolutely idiotic and looking like an absolute mess, but she was always there.
I spoke absolute nonsense and yet we shared such amazing nonsense together that it’s unbelievable!
Our jokes, our outings, our spontaneous plans, our arguments and our never ending discussions with a cup of chai, have been such a significant part of my life, that I am at loss of words at the moment.
She’s been a one who’s seen me at my best and worst. And the best part is, the care, love and truth she has in her feelings for me, hasn’t differed one bit.
I can be absolutely who I am, without any filters, without any eggshells with someone, who not only is my friend, colleague, roommate, my 4 am friend but also one of the most important person in my life.
It’s funny that we thought that our pictures taken after a few drinks are worth putting up on internet. All photos taken then were almost shaken and absolutely not public worthy, but still, here I sit, staring at them. With tears in my eyes and a heavy heart, hoping and wishing, that this friendship sees the times that we have always spoken about.
Because I know it can. This relation, that I am blessed to have found has the capacity to bare the truths of me, and the reality in all its faces.
You are and you will always continue to be such a huge part of me life. And if I’m ever so silly to forget it, you know how to remind me 🙂
Thank you, for all such wonderful times and sharing such significant times in my life. And for being there. And I hope and wish, and will strive to have you till I can possibly have you.
If you have a friend or had a friend you cherish in your life, then don’t wait till it’s too late and remember. Take a moment and reach out and express how you feel. Time flies and you never know when is the right moment, it’s for you to decide…
This post is a dedication to one such friend… and I’m fortunate to be blessed with some of the best friends anyone could ever ask for.
I love each of you, so very much. Thank you for being there at each step 🙂
